Hello Families and Friends!

On Monday we had a lesson on story problems and reviewed the concept of part, part, whole.  We did a couple of story problems together.

For an addition story problem you add the parts to get the whole.
part + part =whole

For a subtraction story problem you start with the whole and take the part away to get the other part.
Whole -part = part

This week your child needs to create their own story problem.  They should have their story problem ready to share at Fridays Zoom meeting.

Hello Families,
Today during our Zoom lesson we continued to focus on opinion writing.  Our new writing assignment is to pick the season that you think is the best.  I reminded the children to start their piece with a hook by asking a question that would get the readers interested in what they have to say.  Then you state your opinion and give 3 reasons why you think it.  After you give your reasons for your opinion it's time for the closing.  All you have to so is restate your opinion and leave your readers with something to think about.

Last week was the last 2 packets were distributed to students.  If you didn't pick up your child's packet you can contact Linda via email to set up a time this week to get their packets.
