Hello Families and Friends,
I wanted to start by saying thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we are all adjusting to the new normal.
This week we moved into our next phase of remote learning. It has been exciting reconnecting with families and formulate a plan the makes sense for each individual as we move forward together. Our new schedule looks like the following;
Monday-9:30-10:00- First Grade Zoom lesson Monday-11:00 (music)
Friday-10:30-11:00- First Grade Zoom lesson Thursday 11:00 (art)
Throughout the week your child will have a one on one meeting with one of the following teachers, Mrs. Charron, Mrs. Lapointe, Mrs. Weimer, Mrs. Hamble, and Mrs. Thomas. These teachers should of contacted you this week to set up a time that works best with your family.
If your children receives Special Education, Speech, or ELL support they will also be meeting an adult one on one.
First grader will be using Freckle app to help practice math. Freckle adaptive math practice allows students to practice their math skills across topics. The best part-Freckle adapts why the students work. The app learns what material is too easy, what is too hard, and what is just right. I'll will be setting up accounts over vacation. Stay tuned.
Here is a short tutorial.

Today we read the book Red is Best and talked about what color they think is the best. This weeks writing assignment will be to write your opinion on what you think is the best color and why. Be ready to share your writing on Friday at our next Zoom meeting!
Here is an example that I shared with the class. It has a title. I wrote my opinion and one reason.
